DFS employs over 9000 people across 11 countries and across 3 continents, with an array of luxury brands such as Bulgari, Burberry, Breitling, Giorgio Armani and many more.
The Australian Trellis Door Company™ is proud to announce it supplied its portable concertina doors to secure three large DFS stores at Hong Kong International Airport.
Working closely with DFS store designers based in Hong Kong, The Australian Trellis Door Company™’s management staff based in Sydney, Australia assisted in satisfying all design criteria by providing its customized portable concertina doors to span extremely wide spans without any top support structure and further to meet the extremely tight storage areas available during trading hours at Hong Kong International Airport.
The Australian Trellis Door Company™’s portable concertina door is world class and is Australia’s first such temporary mobile barrier to undergo a rigorous documented WHS Risk Assessment carried out by certified safety auditors.
The Australian Trellis Door Company’s (ATDC) folding security shutters were recently installed to secure the latest storefront for Aelia Duty Free at Noumea’s International Airport, New Caledonia.
Aelia Duty Free is a division of travel retail global leader Lagardere Travel Retail, which operates 4400 retail shops across the world focussing on Duty Free & Fashion, Travel Essentials and Foodservice primarily in airports and railway stations in 34 countries and generating sales in excess of Euro 4.5 billion.
Specifying designer for the project was Noumea based Amaury Peillon from Interior Design Studio Atelier-numerique.me.
The folding security shutter of choice was ATDC’s S04 model door.The S04 was selected since it is able to span wide expanses (with our without any top track) and requires no floor track at all and so alleviates the need for cumbersome removeable floor track or removeable mullions allowing the customer seamless lock up solutions. And with its compact storage requirement it permits the retailer to present maximum unobstructed floor space for merchandising and presentation.
The Australian Trellis Door Company™ (ATDC™) has recently completed a prestigious commercial curved security shutter installation for DFS Group’s new duty free store at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
ATDC Working With DFS
Working closely with leading international luxury retailer DFS GROUP and specifying architect PMDL out of Hong Kong, ATDC supplied its cutting edge retractable security gates to secure the luxury store’s valuable merchandise.
ATDC also collaborated on this project with Structural Engineer, Structon Group and fitout specialist, Fixx Systems (both companies based in Vietnam) to produce a finished product that surpassed the customer’s expectations.
The Finished Product
PMDL’s Hong Kong office approached ATDC primarily because ATDC possesses the most space efficient retail closure on the market today, namely its S07-2™ side -by -side parallel top tracking retractable security gate configuration.
The very wide and curved shopfront opening (nearly 45 metres) required a space efficient solution which complemented the customer’s high profile luxury image. ATDC provided its S08™ curved retractable security gate in a dual S07-2™ top track configuration security door and thereby achieved a minimal storage requirement for the doors during trading hours.

Numerous kiosk locations within the store itself also required security however provided a challenge since these particular locations have extremely high ceilings and no top structural bulkheads-in these locations ATDC supplied its S04-1™ trackless, mobile, retractable security gates which provide DFS Group with the required lock up of their valuable merchandise.
